INGREDIENTS:-

For the Cake:

▢ 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
▢ 2 cups granulated sugar
▢ 1 teaspoon baking soda
▢1 teaspoon salt
▢ 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
▢ 1 cup vegetable oil
▢ 1 cup buttermilk
▢ 2 large eggs
▢ 2 tablespoons red food coloring
▢ 1 teaspoon white vinegar
▢ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

▢ 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
▢ ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
▢ 4 cups powdered sugar
▢ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Turn the oven temperature up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Put some butter and flour in two circular cake pans about 9 inches in diameter.

Step 2: Combine the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder) in a large bowl using a whisk.

Step 3: Mix the buttermilk, eggs, red food colouring, vinegar, and vanilla essence with the vegetable oil in a separate basin. Stir with a whisk until the liquids are evenly distributed.

Step 4: Mix thoroughly after each addition as you slowly pour the liquids into the dry ingredients. Mix the batter well so that there are no lumps.

Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and spread evenly.

Step 6: Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean, in a preheated oven.

Step 7: After 10 minutes, take the pans out of the oven and let the cakes to cool in there. Then place the cakes on a wire rack to cool in the refrigerator.

Step 8: Make the cream cheese icing while the cakes are cooling. Cream cheese and butter should be melted before being combined in a mixing dish and beaten until smooth and creamy.

Step 9: Add the powdered sugar gradually, one cup at a time, while beating the mixture. To the frosting, add the vanilla extract and mix well until smooth.

Step 10: After the cakes have cooled fully, frost one layer with cream cheese frosting. Cover the first cake layer with the remaining cream cheese frosting and place the second cake layer on top.

Step 11: After you've finished decorating the cake, put it in the fridge for at least an hour so the flavours can blend.
