INGREDIENTS:-

For the cake layers:    


▢ 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
▢ 2 cups granulated sugar
▢ 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
▢ 1 teaspoons baking powder
▢ 2  teaspoons baking soda
▢ 1 teaspoon salt
▢ 2 large eggs
▢ 1 cup milk
▢ 1/2 cup vegetable oil
▢ 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
▢ 1 cup boiling water

For the filling and decoration:

 
▢3 cups heavy whipping cream
▢ 1/2 cup powdered sugar
▢ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
▢ 2 cups pitted and sliced fresh strawberries
▢1/2 cup cherry preserves
▢ Additional fresh strawberries for garnish
▢Chocolate shavings or curls for garnish (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:


Step 1:  Put your oven on 350°F (180°C) to get it ready: Coat two 9-inch round cake pans with butter and flour.

Step 2: Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl with a whisk.

Step 3: Mix the dry ingredients with the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract: Mix at a medium speed until everything is well mixed.

Step 4: Slow down the speed and pour the hot water in carefully: Mix until there are no lumps: It will not be thick.

Step 5: Put the same amount of batter in each of the prepared cake pans.

Step 6: Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick put into the middle of each cake comes out clean.

Step 7: Take the cakes out of the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes in the pans.

Step 8:  After 10 minutes, put the cakes on a wire rack and let them cool fully.

Step 9: Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until hard peaks form: Set aside.

Step 10: Use a sharpened knife to even out the tops of the cakes after they have cooled.

Step 11: Put one piece of cake on a plate to be served: Cover the top with a layer of cherry jam.

Step 12: Cover the cherry jams with a lot of whipped cream.

Step 13: Place the strawberry slices on top of the whipped cream.

Step 14: Put the second piece of cake on top and gently press it down.

Step 15: Spread the rest of the whipped cream on the top and sides of the cake.

Step 16: If you want, you can decorate with fresh strawberries and chocolate bits or curls.

Step 17: Put the cake in the fridge for at least two hours before you serve it so the tastes can blend.

Step 18: Cut the tasty Black Forest cake into pieces and serve it!
