Cabbage Manchurian Recipe | Dry Patta Veg Gobi Manchurian step by step recipe. Cabbage Manchurian is an Indo-Chinese cuisine or street food dish. It's a crispy and popular side dish, either with gravy or dry, usually served with fried rice. This style of manchurian is an economical alternative to the popular gobi or paneer manchurian. For a crispy and spicy dry cabbage veg manchurian, grate the cabbage leaves finely to mix with the maida and corn flour mixture and ensure the oil doesn't seep in while deep frying. You can also add other veggies like capsicum, beans, spring onions, peas and onions. This recipe can also be extended to a gravy recipe.

 INGREDIENTS:-

for manchurian ball:

▢3 cup cabbage (finely chopped)
▢1 tsp chilli powder
▢½ tsp pepper powder
▢½ tsp salt
▢1 tsp ginger garlic paste
▢¼ cup maida
▢2 tbsp corn flour
▢oil (for frying)

for manchurian sauce:

▢2 tbsp oil
▢1 chilli (chopped)
▢5 clove garlic (chopped)
▢1 inch ginger (chopped)
▢½ onion (chopped)
▢2 tbsp spring onion (chopped)
▢½ capsicum (chopped)
▢2 tbsp tomato sauce
▢2 tbsp vinegar
▢2 tbsp soy sauce
▢1 tbsp chilli sauce
▢½ tsp salt
▢½ tsp chilli powder
▢½ cup water
▢1 tsp corn flour

INSTRUCTIONS:-

Step 1 : In a large bowl, mix 3 cups cabbage, 1 tsp each of chilli powder, pepper powder and ginger garlic paste, and ½ tsp of salt. 

Step 2 : Then, add ¼ cup of maida and 2 tbsp of corn flour, and mix to form a dough. 

Step 3 : Grease your hands with oil and make small ball-shaped pieces. 

Step 4 : Deep fry these in hot oil on medium flame until golden brown and crisp. 

To prepare the Manchurian sauce, 


Step 1 : fry 1 chilli, 5 cloves of garlic, 1 inch of ginger, ½ an onion, 2 tbsp of spring onion, and ½ a capsicum in 2 tbsp of oil. 

Step 2 : Add 2 tbsp each of tomato sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, and chilli sauce, and ½ tsp each of salt and chilli powder. 

Step 3 : Mix everything together and pour in a ¼ cup of water to prevent burning. 

Step 4 : Add a corn flour slurry (1 tsp corn flour mixed with ¼ cup of water), 

Step 5 : And cook until the sauce is glossy. 

Step 6 : Finally, add the fried cabbage balls and 2 tbsp of spring onion, and enjoy!

NOTES:

Firstly, adding corn flour to the batter creates a delicious crispiness in manchurian balls.
Second, be sure to use the right amount of maida and corn flour – too much of either will make the balls dense.
Third, adding corn flour slurry makes the sauce more saucy.
Finally, cabbage manchurian recipe is best served hot and crispy for maximum flavour.
