INGREDIENTS

for veg sausage roll:

▢2 Tbsp oil
▢1 chilli (finely chopped)
▢2 Clove garlic (finely chopped)
▢1 Inch ginger (finely chopped)
▢1 Onion (finely chopped)
▢1 Carrot (grated)
▢1 Cup cabbage (finely chopped)
▢1 capsicum (finely chopped)
▢2 Tbsp sweet corn
▢½ Tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
▢½ Tsp cumin powder
▢½ Tsp garam masala
▢¼ Tsp pepper powder
▢½ Tsp salt
▢2 Potato (boiled & mashed)
▢1 Cup paneer / cottage cheese (grated)
▢2 Tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
▢1 Tsp lemon juice

for caramelized onion:

▢2 Tbsp oil
▢2 onion (sliced) 
▢1 Tsp butter
▢1 Tsp sugar
▢½ Tsp salt  

for assembling:

▢2 Hot dog bread roll
▢Mayonnaise
▢Tomato sauce
▢Mustard sauce
▢Cheese (grated)


INSTRUCTIONS -:

Let's make an amazing veg sausage roll with aloo paneer filling! 

Step 1 : First, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and add 1 chili, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 inch of ginger, and 1 onion, wait for slightly sautéed

Step 2 : Then, add 1 carrot, 1 cup of cabbage, 1 capsicum, and 2 tablespoons of sweet corn.

Step 3 : Wait for until the vegetables shrink slightly.

Step 4 : Then , mix in 1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala, 1/4 teaspoon of pepper powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. 

Step 5 : Lastly, add 2 potatoes and 1 cup of paneer and mix until everything is well combined. 

Step 6 : prinkle 2 tablespoons of coriander and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice over the mixture and stir. 


Step 7 :  To make the sausage rolls, grease your hands with oil and form the mixture into cylindrical shapes.

Step 8 : Grill the rolls in a pan until golden and set aside. 

For the caramelized onion topping

Step 1 :In a heavy - bottomed pan heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and add 2 onions. 

Step 2 : Cook on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 

Step 3 : Add 1 teaspoon of butter, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and mix until the onions are cooked. 


Way 1 hot dog assembling

Step 1 :Cut the hot dog in the center and squeeze in 2 teaspoons of  mayonnaise

Step 2 :Top it off with 1 tablespoon of caramelized onion and you are ready to serve!

Way 2 hot dog assembling

Step 1 : Start by making a slit in your hot dog, either down the middle or from the cross side. 

Step 2 : Then, fill it with 2 teaspoons of eggless mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of caramelized onion, and a tablespoon of aloo paneer mixture. 

Step 3 : Top it off with some more caramelized onion.

Step 4 :  A hint of tomato sauce, and a touch of mustard sauce.

Step 5 : Finally, sprinkle some cheese on top and savor your delicious desi-style veg hot dog!  


NOTES:

  • firstly, make sure to adjust the amount of spice to your choice.
  • also, adding paneer is completely optional. however, it enhances the flavour.
  • additionally, you can add boiled rajma or chickpea or soya in the stuffing to get a texture similar to sausages.
  • finally, veg hot dog recipe tastes great when served with caramelised onions.
